Balaboosta Ceramics is a Brooklyn-kitchen-based pottery practice creating functional pieces for everyday life — cups, bowls, plates, and decorative objects meant to be used often and lived with. Made by hand in small batches, each piece carries subtle variation and charm.

Balaboosta (sometimes spelled balabusta or balabosta) is a Yiddish term traditionally referring to a woman who runs her household with a blend of efficiency, warmth, and culinary skill.

The balaboosta behind this practice has chosen the kitchen as the place to make art, to cook, to gather, and to share food with family and friends. This way of life honors the pleasure of everyday rituals — setting the table, eating together, creating community, and living with beautiful, useful objects.
